Treatments

At Tran Orthodontics, we offer a variety of effective orthodontic treatments. Our options include traditional metal braces, which have been trusted for years, as well as discreet alternatives like ceramic braces which the majority of our patients use on their top teeth, as well as clear aligners such as Invisalign.
The duration of orthodontic treatment varies depending on the complexity of individual cases and the specific treatment plan recommended by Dr. Tran. While some cases may be completed in as little as 6 months, others may require up to 2 years to achieve the desired results.
Yes, retainers are a crucial part of maintaining your new smile. After completing active orthodontic treatment, retainers help prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original positions. Consistently wearing retainers as prescribed will ensure your beautiful results are preserved for years to come.
Absolutely! Orthodontic treatment not only straightens your teeth but can also address jaw misalignments and improve your bite. Dr. Tran's expertise enables him to create a treatment plan that addresses both dental and skeletal discrepancies for a harmonious and functional smile.

Hygiene, Care, & Emergency

Yes, to protect your braces or aligners and avoid any damage, it is best to avoid sticky, hard, and chewy foods. These can potentially cause brackets to break or wires to bend, delaying your treatment progress.
Maintaining good oral hygiene is essential during orthodontic treatment. Regularly brush your teeth, ensuring you clean around the brackets or aligners carefully. Flossing is equally important to remove food particles and plaque from between your teeth and under the wires or aligners. We will provide you with specific instructions and recommendations for dental care throughout your treatment.
If a wire or bracket becomes loose or breaks, first try to gently push it back into place using a clean pencil eraser. If discomfort persists, cover the sharp end with orthodontic wax, and contact our office immediately to schedule an emergency appointment.
If a wire is poking or causing irritation, try using a clean cotton swab or the eraser end of a pencil to gently push the wire away from your cheek, tongue, or gums. If this doesn't provide relief, cover the sharp end with orthodontic wax and contact us for guidance.
Patients with pain or swelling are advised to contact our office as soon as possible. In cases involving an accident with trauma to the face or mouth, the patient may be referred to the appropriate specialist for treatment.
